Liz Bryan is a graduate of the Texas PTA Emerging Leaders Academy (ELA). She is a stay at home mom to three boys and an active community volunteer.

Karen Burnell M.Ed., serves as Healthy Lifestyles Liaison for Texas PTA. Karen’s passion for health and wellness stems from her career as an elementary physical education teacher, academic research coordinator for childhood-obesity prevention grants, and as a district coordinator for health and PE. She is also currently serving on her local PTA, district SHAC, Texas Action for Healthy Kids Steering Committee, and the Kids Fit Menu Advisory Board.

Anna Smith grew up in South Texas, married her high school sweetheart, and is a mom to four kids. She is a passionate advocate for inclusion and diversity within her community and serves on the Leander ISD Council of PTAs. Since arriving in Leander in 2015, her goal has been to create a community where parents, staff, and school administrators come together and collaborate on how to ensure every a child has a voice.

Suzi Kennon serves as President-Elect and Advocacy Chair of Texas PTA. With 18 years in PTA, Suzi has served at the Local, Council, and State level and most recently received the highest recognition for volunteer and community service in her school district, The Wylie Way Award. Prior to becoming what her husband calls “a professional volunteer”, Suzi was a paralegal for law firms in Seattle and Tampa.

Since 2006, Kyle Ward has served as Executive Director of Texas PTA. An advocate for children and parents all his life, Kyle formerly was the Director of Field Operations for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). He and his wife and their two sons hail from North Texas.

Carolyn Jennings Brown has been serving public schools in the state of Texas for nearly two decades. She has a unique perspective that spans from being the daughter of an educator to a student, teacher, and parent. Today, Carolyn travels the state sharing her anti-bullying/pro-kindness workshop. She is an honorary lifetime member of Texas PTA and a recipient of the National PTA Lifetime Achievement Award. Carolyn lives in Austin with her husband and their two daughters.
